Paris Convention
What is it? The International Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property. This treaty was originally signed in 1883 and grants, among other things, trademark rights based upon national treatment to all nationals whose countries signed onto the convention. A trademark registration in ones home country sets the priority date for registrations made in all other member countries.
